Prince George is ready for 2010!
British Columbia will welcome the world to the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games next year and Prince George is positioned to take full advantage of the many sport, cultural and economic opportunities that flow from BC's hosting of the largest winter sporting event in the world.
The Prince George Spirit of BC Committee has been active since Vancouver won the bid to host the Games and to date, Prince George has benefitted from $1.2M in Games-related funding and programs. As one of the busiest Spirit of BC committees in the province, the Prince George Spirit of BC Committee acts as a catalyst to advance specific opportunities in the community related to 2010 which include Sport Hosting, Arts and Cultural Legacies, Tourism and Business Opportunities.
Supported by 2010 Legacies Now and the Province of BC, Spirit of BC is a province-wide initiative that promotes community innovation, pride and excellence, and involves British Columbians in the opportunities arising from the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
